Colchester High School Woods

This is a fun series of trails in the woods next to Colchester High School. There are a number of different branches and loops that I did not ride, but the one that I did ride was pretty wide throughout with nice flowing lines. There are exposed roots and rocks in places, (like all trails in Vermont,) but all were pretty easy to navigate with the exception of a short bit that leads to the lookout.
The lookout is a little bit hard to find but worth the effort. Take the main trail in and take a left when you get to a utility Road. Go past the cell phone tower to small rocky drop that leads to a beautiful look out over Colchester and the Lake Champlain.
I encountered a number of muddy puddles in the trail but almost all were easy to get around and the one I had to go through was very shallow.
Overall I think this is a great place for off-road handcycling. The climbs are challenging without being too difficult and the trails are wide and smooth enough to make the descents pretty fun. I think the these Trails would be accessible to people across a pretty wide range of ability.
