Peggy’s Trail

(First parts taken from https://www.mtbproject.com/trail/7007783)
“This trail starts from the Polecat Gulch parking lot and begins with a short climb up the ridgeline. Once on the ridgeline, the trail joins an old doubletrack and the tread will vary in width for a while.
You’ll then descend into a creek bottom and join onto a nice singletrack trail that wraps around a hill and then ascends dry creek. There will be some old roads that cross the route, so make sure to follow the numerable signs. Then you’ll climb up and around into the Daniels Creek drainage before connecting with the Sweet Sweet Connie trail.
This trail can be ridden in either direction and is an excellent way to extend the descent on Sweet Sweet Connie.”
Entrance to this trail requires you to go through a gate and over a bar. The reason for the bar is to keep motorcycles and atv’s out. It helps to have an extra pair of hands to get your trike over. Most of this trail is too narrow for the trikes I see ridden now days. This and the sand are why I give it an 8. I was able to complete over 3 miles of this 4.9 mile trail. (One wheel was perpetually on the up side of the mountain) Several times along this ride, I used the 2 track and was rewarded with too many goat heads to count.(Thank God for stop leak.) Some of the two track especially the part in the canyon was loose sand. I logged 1264 feet elevation gain and 8.8 miles on this ride. I did not complete the whole ride as one of the roads I took,(thinking it would parallel the trail) took me to the south and several hundred feet above Peggy’s trail.
Talking to several Mt bikers, the end by Sweet Sweet Connie may not be a good ride for a trike. They told me they had to carry their mt bikes up the last slope due to all the boulder sized rocks. I will try to ride the other end and report on it at a later date.
I rode this trail on a 30.5 wide, Catrike Road trike with aftermarket items from Utah Trikes.
